Drip

Something a little looser than I’m used to doing.”Drip” 12×12 inches oil on panel. Went to see the Rembrandt show up at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and I always forget until I look close, how he managed to marry both smoothness and rough texture all in one portrait. Because yes, I’ve actually had people complain that my portrait are too smooth, too satin finish, or look plastic because they are near flawless. I don’t get why this is a problem for some people, but I guess it is. Anyway, if you view this painting in person, you’ll see all the brush strokes and more…

This is for the faculty show coming up at BAYarts, opening reception is Friday, March 8th, 7-9pm.
